The body, a vessel of unimaginable reality, 2025
Oil on canvas
In my paintings I use different painting languages, a hybrid blend of different languages that meet and create tension, a friction between the everyday elements and abstract cascades, as well as the findings between the naturalism of the skin and the intensity of the powerful color combinations and rhythms of form. Figurative and abstract. I am interested in what happens when boundaries between figurative and abstract dissolve. What is created when two genres meet or a boundary is transgressed. What emerges in the act of crossing boundaries is what develops in the space between. Paintings that are neither fully figurative nor fully abstract exist in a simultaneous state. They inhabit this borderland, assert it, and remain there, because we ourselves live within such boundaries — recognizing them while also moving beyond them.
