In this work, the artist explores different aspects of care work, abandoning the need for social approval while embracing the quiet beauty of everyday life. The work is based on black-and-white photographs of the artist’s son with a disability, expressing care, concern and hope for the future. Seeking to create a dialogue between personal experience and the perceived need for social validation—while simultaneously questioning its necessity—the artist combines fragmented silver gelatin photographs with lumen prints.
