Nut, 2022
Acrylic paint, cotton canvas
The theme of this creative project is “The Nut.” The idea for this work came to me quite unexpectedly: one autumn day, I was gathering and shelling nuts. As I looked at them one by one, I noticed that while they all appeared strong and beautiful on the outside, they hid entirely different secrets inside—some were empty, and others were even worm-eaten. It was then that I started to think about how people and nuts have many similarities: the exterior can be deceiving. Just like nuts, people seem similar, but their inner worlds are very different. Some have a rich spirit and important moral values, while others may be empty or poor inside. Later, as I delved deeper into the chosen subject, I discovered another similarity. I equated the nut’s hard outer shell with human spiritual strength. Just as a nut protects its kernel, a person can also “not crack”—resisting condemnation, criticism, or other external factors without changing their opinion or moral stance.
