PVC tube, PU foam, spray paint and paper

The work was exhibited in Antwerp in the exhibition Day and Night Window. It started from an older pillar in the space which was partly covered up by a wall. The sculpture reflects the past states of this place, layers of time, and creates a new, possible division for the future. The pillar is only half full, which visitors are able to notice when they watch it from the back (in the original exhibition, a vitrine version, only via online documentation). The sculpture plays with visual triggers and reflects on the limits of our perception: we need only half the material, and half our imagination to make the pillar fully round.
