The work explores the relationship between light and shadow. In order to show shadow, light is required: light reveals contours and gives colour to form. For a shadow to appear, there must be a source that emits light.
Yet light itself is only electromagnetic waves in motion. A shadow emerges when the path of light is interrupted—when something stands in its way. The shadow becomes a disturbance or interruption, marking the point where light can no longer pass.
The work attempts to show jewellery through light and shadow. These pieces are made of steel, silver and brass, but equally of light and shadow. They are contours.
