Ilinx, 2019
Video, water, rope, sound Ilinx is an autobiographical work, dealing with the search of freedom (mental & physical) through horse riding and clubbing, drawing from the authors personal experiences. It speaks of the physical freedom and shamanic trance one can experience through both horse riding and dancing, as well as the use of drugs, especially ketamine (in clubs). The work focuses on existential questions, reasons of action, drawing also parallels between shamanic rituals, representations and meaning of horses and the modern way of life and meme’s, (where a white horse often represents a person going to a club). The work is a site specific audiovisual installation. For the moment the work is not for sale but if wish to exhibit, please contact artist.
