My paintings explore the fragile boundary of desire — a place where biological impulse intertwines with imagination and aesthetics. Ermines, insects, and diamonds appear in these works like dreamlike signs, carrying both attraction and a hidden sense of danger. In the series “Ermines,” I reflect on how contemporary visual culture shapes our desires. The endlessly repeating images on social media and in advertising create a shared longing that no longer arises quietly from within a person, but instead through external shine and constant visibility. The ermine, once a symbol of luxury and purity, becomes in my work both an embodiment of desire and a fragile victim of a world hungry for attention.
