«Πυρήνας» means _Core_ and is a drawing translating visual what is the role of the sea in my life.The energy that its gives me , as well as the relationship that has been created through the years, becoming the core of my soul. All the imprints (the texture which has been made by the imprint of my fingers) are following the same direction to the centre of the core. Creating the texture of the inorganic compound of water, gives the visual impression of thousands of cells supporting each other. The barbed wire in the drawing works as a symbol. Is the symbol of “protection”. Is there, keeping a specific area safe, surrounding it as a frame. It also works as contradiction between something natural and artificial. The dragonfly works as a symbol, too. Is the symbol of “life”. There is a legend about dragonflies in Greece that my grandmother narrated to me when I was young. The legend says that -When the dragonflies are flying on the water surfaces , are giving their performance. They are dancing in honour of Nature , enjoying and protecting “her” (the Nature) simultaneously. The work has participated in the group exhibition in Alva Gallery in Umeå.
