Below the Horizon: Glass plate, 2025

110 x 80 cm
€4000

glass, cyanotype, metal

This installation is a visual representation of a place that once held deep meaning for me. Even after I left, I kept the memory close, preserved in its own way. As I got older, I began to forget the place that had meant so much to me. The place still exists, but it no longer holds the same importance it once did. I find myself revisiting moments rather than truly living them again. This work lives in that in-between space: the version of the place that moves on without me, and the one that lives on in my heart. This is the largest class plate in my series which is 110cm by 80cm. The process is cyanotype on glass which is a difficult and advanced process which requires patience, skill and experience. I mounted the images 10 cm away from the wall which gives the image movement due to the shadow produced by the plate and overhead light. This project has been awarded the Region Västerbotten (Alva Gallery) scholarship and is exposed in Bildmuseet (one of Sweden’s foremost venues for international contemporary art) for the summer.
