ALLUSIONS, 2023
amber dust, epoxy resin, chinese rose powder, silver
The idea of the collection is to depict authentic personal childhood or family memories. To convey their allusions in jewelry in a new and unique way. Probably more than one person has similar memories that they can recreate after seeing my jewelry. Imagining certain moments of shared presence, I want to convey to my children, my children’s children, how important the family is, its values, the legacy of feelings. My memories are not specific events or stories, they are more actions that repeat themselves through me with my children, and it becomes my personal interpretation, thanks to which each viewer can recreate their own memories. The viewer, after seeing my collection, can recreate certain moments of his life in his memory. I aspire for everyone who sees my work to extend my narrative and share similar experiences. The Allusions collection is a set of four brooches and a necklace consisting of cast amber dust reliefs and linear silver designs. This is my personal childhood memories combined with current memories. I embodied a similar combination of fingers at work in a neck decoration: my own fingers I scanned my own fingers using digital technology and printed the models in reduced 3D format, I used them to create more details, which I used as a repeating dot in the neck jewellery I used the same pattern as a repeating pattern in the necklace chain. The centre of the neckpiece is dominated by the same finger interlocking motif. The finger joints are an allusion to the repetitive touches that create a connection, to games, to links with loved ones. In the jewellery, this motif becomes a kind of sign that up my memory.
