Original drawing The metaphysical series “Act Three” depicts the Butterfly Woman in the third phase of her life – a moment where inner transformation has led to maturity and self-actualization. The caterpillar and cocoon stages remain only as a conceptual backstory, symbolizing the internal evolution that culminated in her emergence as a butterfly. This is a series that expands across time and space, where each new scene marks a chapter in the artist’s journey of self-discovery. “Act Three, Scene Four” came to the artist in a dream. About the series: The Butterfly Woman stands in the spotlight, her shadow behind her offering support. The black-and-white checkerboard beneath her feet symbolizes the choices she faces, and now she consciously steps onto the white square. The vertically divided black-and-white background represents a space-time continuum, where the shadow is as vast as the light that cast it. Balance in this realm is not a static state or accidental harmony, but a continuous, conscious process.
