Rūdolfs Kesenfelds is an artist based in Riga, Latvia. He holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Metal Design from the Art Academy of Latvia. Recently, Rūdolfs participated in the ERASMUS+ exchange program, focusing on interdisciplinary studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, Slovakia. Kesenfelds’ artistic exploration revolves around the versatility of metal, combining it with organic and synthetic materials. As a child, he perceived metal as rigid, unfeeling, and stiff, but as he grew older and began attending art workshops, his understanding of the material deepened. Today, he views metal as an exciting and vibrant medium, one that invites creative and experimental approaches, revealing its diverse textures and properties.
