Maaria Jokimies

Artist's country of origin: Finland

Maaria graduated as a Bachelor of Arts from Lahti Institute of Fine Arts in 2016. Since then she has been actively working with painting and having exhibitions. Two solo shows in 2021, in Exhibition Laboratory and in Galerie Forsblom’s Studio. Previous solo exhibition in Huuto gallery in the spring 2019. In 2018 had two solo exhibitions in Galleria Katariina’s Studio (Helsinki) and in Rajatila gallery (Tampere). Took part in MFA Degree Show Kuvan Kevät in 2020. Participated in many group exhibitions in Finnish galleries, and also in Art Museums in Imatra, Lapua and Lahti. Maaria was one of the 100 artists who executed the Portrait of the President Sauli Niinistö of the Republic of Finland in 2018. The portrait is in the collection of The Prime Minister’s Office Finland. In 2017 she received a grant for 6 months working from Finnish Cultural Foundation’s South Karelia Regional Fun.
