Lovisa Fahlgren (b. 1996) is a Swedish artist based in Umeå and Stockholm. Fahlgren holds a BFA from Umeå Academy of Fine Arts (2026) and is pursuing her MFA degree at Konstfack in Stockholm. Her work has been shown in several group shows, Bothnia Salong (Västerbottens museum, Umeå), Rotation (Bas Konsthall, Järfälla), Minneshorisonter (Candyland, Stockholm) and UÄÄÄH! Performance Festival (Fylkingen, Stockholm). Fahlgren explores themes of vulnerability and resistance, tying connections between elements of nature and human experiences through installations, thread, plant material, video and sound. The plant material is weeds growing in flowerbeds or through cracks in the asphalt, twisting them like thread. Knot by knot reusing materials, paper, metal and string, tying together what has been cut apart, connecting, tangling, holding, becoming both physical and emotional gestures. Using what would otherwise be discarded, giving worth to what we might not see, making space for us to be present and to listen.
