Jonathan Stavleu Emerging artist

Jonathan Stavleu

Artist's country of origin: Estonia

Jonathan Stavleu is a sculptor and installation artist with a site specific practice. His entire artistic practice revolves around exploring how various countries perceive and define “space”. This fascination comes from his personal experiences as an artist from the densely populated Netherlands, a place where space is a limited, and also as a resident of Estonia, a sparsely populated country where open spaces are abundant. In his art, Stavleu frequently immerses himself in the environments he encounters, collecting the elements that define these spaces. His work serves as a magnifying glass, offering viewers a appreciation of the unique nature of the environment they inhabit.
