Jelizaveta Fogel is a contemporary painter whose work embraces expressive brushwork, vivid color, and a bold approach to material experimentation. Rooted in expressionism, her practice explores the diversity and vitality of the human body, often merging painting with sculptural elements. Fogel frequently incorporates found materials and everyday objects into her canvases—gluing, nailing, or tying them onto the surface—to create tactile, multidimensional compositions that blur the boundary between image and object.
She has presented her work in a range of solo and group exhibitions across Estonia and Europe. Her solo exhibition Ja Ustala – Liza Saveljeva took place at Lokaal Pirogov in 2022. Among her numerous group shows are presentations at A-Art Gallery, Astri Center (Ze+F, 2020), Joala 5B (2020), Station Narva Festival (2020, 2023, 2024), Estonian Embassy in Brussels (Greetings from the Homeland, 2023), SillArt.GALLERY (B&W GOLD, 2024), Pallas Gallery(Freische Winde/New Winds and I Don’t Want to Look at Anything Anymore, 2024), and Literary Museum (Vaimustav, 2024–2025). She also participated in SVG x Pallas at the University of Tartu Faculty of Social Sciences (2024–2025).
In addition to her artistic practice, Fogel has curated exhibitions such as Faces of Dreams (2023), which featured works by students of the Pallas Painting Department in Narva-Jõesuu’s Hotel Noorus. She is a member of NOBA and the art collective Multinektar (both since 2024).
