Gudrun Heamägi

Artist's country of origin: Estonia

Gudrun Heamägi is a visual artist who mostly uses printmaking, photography and installation. Her artwork can be characterized by poetic and narrative approach. She is interested in the endless narratives that constantly repeat themselves in time like mythical snakes devouring their tales. She has obtained MA degree in the printmaking department at the Estonian Academy of Arts in 2013, has participated in various residencies. In 2019 she received Wiiralt Prize for best printmaking series. Her works are in the collections of several galleries, art centers and other international institutions. The artist is a member of the Estonian Artist’ Association, Association of Estonian Printmakers and Ubu Noir lithography workshop.
