Alise Lelde Ķezbere Emerging artist
Artist is based in: Latvia
Santa Lelde Ķezbere (artist name -Alise Lelde Ķezbere b. 2000, Latvia) graduated with a BA in Painting from the Art Academy of Latvia in 2026. Her practice explores the intersection of dreams, memory, perception, and the human body through large scale oil paintings that combine figurative imagery with fragmented, surreal environments. Working with layered compositions and visual ambiguity, she investigates the unstable relationship between reality and subconscious experience. Her BA graduation project “Waking up from another extremely vivid and emotionally difficult dream that felt like another life in another reality’’ – consists of a series of paintings examining dream states, bodily perception, and psychological space. The work draws on phenomenology, psychoanalysis, and cinematic visual language while maintaining a distinctly painterly approach.
Ķezbere has participated in several group exhibitions in Latvia and internationally, including SMS.WIFI.OK at Viscosa Culture Factory, Hiiumaa, Estonia (2026), Paaudze – mēs at Daugavpils Culture Palace (2025), JAUNmarka at the Art Academy of Latvia (2023, 2025), IXO – The Origin of Beauty (2024), and ZĪMES (2024) at Raiņa Kvartāls, Cēsis. In 2026 she was awarded the Valdemārs Tone Scholarship in recognition of her artistic achievements. Her paintings are held in private collections. As an emerging painter, she is interested in expanding her practice through international exhibitions and dialogue, continuing to explore painting as a medium capable of translating subjective, psychological experiences into immersive visual environments.
