Magnus Enckell is an essential part of art history of Tampere. The altarpiece of the Cathedral, the Ascension fresco and the large and colourful glass painting above it are made by Enckell. The artist’s son Jorgen Enckell donated his father’s works to the Tampere Art Museum in 1983 and 1986. This donated collection of about 300 works includes paintings, drawings and graphic art. Almost 50 works from this body and the art museum’s other collections are included at the exhibition.
The exhibition has been produced by the Ateneum Art Museum / The National Gallery.
