In Lin On Me, you get to know a fiber with a rich history and properties that make it highly interesting for the future. You get to meet those who manage the knowledge of the process from seed to fiber, those who keep the cultural heritage alive and carry the knowledge in their bodies. You get to meet those who use flax in their artistic work. Those who use linen in their production in everything from towels to wallpaper and those who research linen's properties to create innovations for a sustainable future.
The exhibition is framed by images by photographer Maja Kristin Nylander.
Lin On Me is produced by Rydal’s museum in collaboration with the association Internationellt vävcenter and Hemslöjdkonsulterna in Västra Götaland. The exhibition is based, among other things, on the project 1 square meter of flax where Rydal’s museum received Greta Johansson’s flax scholarship and the project Knowledge node for bio-based local fiber raw material – Flax in focus, which is run by Science Park Borås (project owner), the University of Textiles, International Weaving Center Sjuhärad, RISE and Wargön Innovation.
