In 2021 Vilnius Academy of Arts celebrates the symbolic 30th anniversary of the Department of Fashion Design (formerly Costume Design). During 30 years of activity the Department has released 28 generations of graduates who have spread around the world trying to tame the “fashion dragon”.
The names of some graduates have become very famous and their works are known to a wide audience, the names of others are less famous but their works are valuable and promising.
The exhibition “Fashion Design Stories” exposes the behind-the-scenes creative path and career of the graduates and the professors since 1991 up to now. The artworks ans stories presented introduce a wide range of fashion design activities and opportunities. The exposition is telling a fashion story which encompasses fashion design works of various tastes, genres and generations, reflecting current events and trends of different years.
