Kajsa Andersö (b. 1962) and Tomas Boman (b. 1965) have been present for nine years in meetings and in corridors, on the construction site, in kitchens and in town halls. It has become a documentation of a process with all its complications. In the film “From a Diary of the Advent of Liljevalchs+”, we follow how the extension develops from 2013 to 2021.
Through a consistent puzzle technique with short and responsive sequences and impact, we as observers really get an opportunity to see what has happened behind the scenes and thus understand the complexity that lies behind the final result.
In the sequences, physical toil is mixed with tired, angry, happy and anxious voices – and in the middle of it all, after all, there is a bubbling energy in that we are all part of something bigger, in the vision and creation of Liljevalchs+.
The pulse of the film gives an insight into how complicated it is to build, it is an introduction to and shows respect for professional knowledge. The film thus gives perspective on our longing for quick results and it can be seen as a slow documentary line on simplistically dismissive and sloppy opinion.
The film project “From a Diary of the Advent of Liljevalchs+ 2013–2021” is shown in Liljevalchs+.
