By exhibiting historical costumes side by side with imaginative cosplay costumes, traditional craftsmanship meets innovative interpretations, techniques and materials.
Sörmlands Museum hopes that the exhibition fascinates and inspires, while encouraging visitors to explore the world of craftsmanship – whether through historical techniques or modern cosplay projects.
The exhibition Cosplay Chronicles and its associated program are carried out in close collaboration with Närcon, Nyköping Municipality and Ung Kraft.
Cosplay Chronicles features short films featuring the exhibition’s nine costume designers, where they talk about everything from the craft to stepping into character. The films are produced by Josefine Svensson, antiquarian at Sörmlands Museum. You can also watch the films here:
