The first major presentation of Norwegian artist Christian Skredsvig's work in Sweden will open in the spring of 2025. Skredsvig (1854-1924), who is relatively unknown in Sweden, is considered in Norway to be one of the great painters of his time. His lyrical landscapes with people and animals invite you to a visual world filled with emotion and atmosphere.

The exhibition includes both small and large-scale works by Skredsvig together with paintings by some of his fellow artists from the Norwegian Golden Age, such as Edvard Munch, Kitty Kielland, Harriet Backer and Eilif Peterssen. The exhibition, which will be shown at the Henie Onstad Kunstsenter in Norway in autumn 2024, will be supplemented at Waldemarsudde with an exciting presentation of several works with Norwegian motifs by Prince Eugen as well as a selection of paintings by his Norwegian artist friends.
