Roman Korovin’s works – photography, drawing, video or installation are characterized by precise observation, visual paradoxes and humor. His painting, on the other hand, shines quietly with a special sensitivity to painting, philosophical reflection, simplicity and truthfulness. “The world around me is objects with lights and contrasts …” Melting snow, autumn leaves, white flower, duck in flight, wind, a glass, a bar of soap, a path between a pine and a bush … are the humble characters of Roman Korovin’s stories about painting. “Art becomes a miracle because it is your tool, your practice. Some meditate, others paint. The third sings, the fourth prays to God. In fact, when I paint, I feel as if I have come to confession. When the pastor forgives sins, it feels as if you have just finished painting. ” (Romans Korovins)
