Anton Kupriyanov (b. 1991, Bolshiye Uki, Omsk Region) lives and works in Tara. He studied Design and Computer Graphics at Omsk State Pedagogical University. Since 2016, he has been part of the creative association and exhibition space Sugrob, together with artists Ivan Shatov and Denis Rusakov.
Kupriyanov’s paintings are often described as Naive Realism, though he himself prefers the term Cloudy Impressionism. His works depict everyday life and anonymous, desolate spaces, rendered in cold, muted palettes that evoke the breath of northern air. Rather than idealizing small industrial towns, he presents them through a “gloomy romantic” lens—inviting viewers to perceive, and even love, Siberia in its raw, understated beauty.
Denis Rusakov (b. 1992, Klyuchi, Omsk Region) has lived and worked in Tara since 2011. Largely self-taught, he graduated from the Art Department of TF OmGPU in 2015 and co-founded Sugrob in 2016.
Rusakov works across painting, graphics, photography, objects, and mixed techniques. His style aligns with Magic Realism, merging the ordinary with the extraordinary and dissolving the boundaries between reality and imagination.
