The Museum of Traditional Ukrainian Life was created by Ukrainians from different parts of Ukraine. So, here you can find unique embroidery (vyshyvanka) from Halič, Bukovina and Slobožanščín; ceremonial towels (rushnyk) from the picturesque Chernigov region; ceramics from the Podilia region; carved spoons from Polisia, etc. These exhibits were collected by a large group of people: the Ukrainian diaspora in Kaunas, volunteers, teachers, military officers and other caring Ukrainians from various parts of Ukraine. It is interesting that the exhibit “Patriot’s Cradle” traveled more than 2,000 kilometers, and the ceramics were brought across the borders of three states. Ukrainian book publishers, who together collected and donated various books to the museum, contributed to the significant spread of Ukrainian culture.
