Therefore, it requires to unveil the edge of the fabric which covers the exhibition “Banga”: the Channel for Human Voice”, the fifth exhibition of the cycle “The Great Industry” about the Kaunas Radio Plant. All the exhibitions of the cycle have been organized in cooperation with the communities of the former Kaunas factories and artists who created their works – insights into the topics covered by the exhibitions: memory, alternative history, survival, faith and work. A good sense of teamwork with Laura Garbštienė was a pleasant inspiration in exploring the concepts of work and production. Her performative works “Spinners’ Orchestra” and “Knife-blades are Slowly Synchronizing” involve people and use traditional work tools.
“Our Lady of Sorrows and Banga” is an installation that contains reflections and remnants of the above-mentioned works by L. Garbštienė, but this time the author flirts with “Banga” of “The Great Industry”. In the redesigned space of this exhibition, the artist lays out her story, full of incredible coincidences and signs.
