This is how the artist talks about his project:
The project consisted of six open workshops for all ages outdoors at Fredriksdal’s Gardens. The creative process consisted of building objects from organic material taken from the area, such as branches, grass and soil. A prerequisite was that all the parts involved were found on the ground, in the near nature. Many of the creations were made with the intention of directly influencing and supporting the biological diversity in the area, for example forms that can serve as insect hotels, bird nests, mouse dens and more.
The result of the completed work exists only as a document for a limited time: the finished creations are left in the place where the material was found. The objects’ visual expression, meaning and soft imprint in nature develop and change successively, through decay and natural decay in collaboration with nature itself. Exercising creativity in this way follows and reinforces our awareness of the climate and our love for nature. Such a creative practice follows and reinforces our awareness of climate change, through this medium of contemporary art.
– Fantastic that we got to host Zoran’s important workshop! With nature as a starting point, it goes hand in hand with the work and ambition of Fredriksdal museums and gardens. Wonderful that it turned into a sculpture park in the little things to discover in the mighty leafy passages. Nature and art in fine-tuned interaction, says Maria Axelsson, program manager Fredriksdal museums and gardens.
The project was made with the support of the City of Helsingborg’s Vision Fund.
