Camera Obscura (Latin – “dark room”) is the very first type of camera that was used for scientific research already in the 13th century, but the principles of its construction have been known since ancient times – they date back to the 4th century BC. The interactive environmental object “Black cube” is a large-format chamber – a darkened room, into which the visitor can enter. Light enters the object through a small hole and an image of the outside environment is projected, clearly demonstrating how any camera works.
Next to the environmental facility, analog photography creative workshops will be held every day, which will be open to anyone interested, regardless of age. In the pinhole camera workshop, participants will be able to experiment with taking a picture using a cardboard camera and photo paper. In the cyanotype workshops, participants will be able to get to know one of the oldest ways of photo copying, where compositions of various objects will be created on previously specially treated sheets of paper and exposed to sunlight, resulting in an original work of art.
