The exhibition "She becomes Anna-Eva Bergman" follows Bergman's path into a new painting and houses several of her monumental works from 1950 to 1975. During this period, Bergman developed a new artistic language and made his mark on the international arena with a career that stands forward in Norwegian art history.

Anna-Eva Bergman (1909-1987) lived large parts of her life in France, but in her paintings Norway and memories of Norwegian landscapes creep in. This exhibition shows works that are inspired by Norwegian, but also French landscapes. In the paintings, which oscillate between the abstract and the imaginative, Bergman created a space to reflect on nature. The sense of nature she conveys is no less relevant in light of today’s knowledge of nature’s vulnerability.
