The Weight of Light is a series of oil paintings that move between the abstract and the figurative. They are as much inner as they are outer landscapes, with forms that could be seen through a microscope or from a telescope – organic, cosmic, corporeal or completely free-flowing from the subconscious. The technique used – all prima, where the paint is painted wet-on-wet – requires that each part must be completed in one sweep, which makes the painting both planned and intuitive. Anna Camner is a Swedish artist, based in Stockholm. Since graduating from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 2003, she has exhibited across much of the world, including London, New York and Mumbai.
