The group exhibition ‘Musa x Paradisico x Purvītis 150’ will be unveiled at the Art Academy of Latvia’s experimental art space ‘Pilot.’ The exhibition is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Vilhelms Purvītis, the founder of the academy.

To celebrate this anniversary and the coming of spring, students will showcase artworks exploring the theme of paradise. The works in the exhibition are symbolic of a romp in academia, the acquisition of knowledge needed to spark novel ideas at a time when everything seems to have become devoid of colour.
The students’ extraordinary and intriguing interpretations of paradise are conveyed through various artistic mediums: paintings, sculptures, musical compositions, as well as video installations.
Musa × Paradisico is the sweetest variety of banana, a true forbidden fruit of paradise. It takes but a taste to realise that each and every one of us is a person of their own making. Historians say that Vilhelms Purvītis was also a man of his own making.
