The starting point for the project is an interest in color and its impact on how space is experienced. Color functions here as an independent means of expression and a tool for experimentation in dialogue with light and architecture. The project investigates relationships between colors and their impact on the viewer’s perception and emotions.
An important part of the project is its educational and process-oriented dimension. Through play and experimentation with color, the exhibition encourages, especially younger visitors, to be creative and explore their own ways of expressing themselves.
Jolanta Nowaczyk (born 1980) is a visual artist living and working in Borås. In her recent works, she focuses on color as an autonomous means of expression and on investigations of the relationship between color, light, and space. Through simple forms, process-based working methods, and elements of experimentation, she creates situations that engage the viewer’s perception and make visible the changeability of visual experience. She is educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań, and her work has been shown in galleries and institutions around Sweden and is included in public and private collections.
