In the exhibition "And so on", Sara Kallioinen Lundgren shows textile and sculptural works where the nuances of the text meet the form of the material. Starting from the expression and so on or and so on, she explores how simple words and expressions can often have a complex and multi-layered meaning.
Sara Kallioinen Lundgren is often fascinated by details that are a little small to take up space, the ones that sometimes turn out to be the most important. The exhibition shows works in which she explores how the folds of the fabric together with the shape of the letters can lead the mind to all the small things that can change the meaning of our words. The textile is allowed to take over and change shape in different ways, the smock of the elastic thread turns a flat surface into a multitude of curves and the metaphor of wrapping takes shape in the hard draped sculptures. The material’s transformation of the words becomes a picture of how what is conveyed through language is always affected by the body language, intonation and sentence melody of the speaker.
Sara Kallioinen Lundgren (b. 1993) works in Stockholm and has a master’s degree with a textile focus from the program Craft! in Arts and a bachelor’s degree in ceramic art from HDK-Valand, University of Art and Design at the University of Gothenburg. In Falkenberg, she is currently working on an artistic design for Fabo, Falkenberg’s public housing company, which is carried out in collaboration with Rian konst. This work of art, entitled Och so vådet, will be installed at the Äpplet block on Holgersgatan in central Falkenberg during the spring of 2023.
