Completely torn apart is an exhibition, video installation, and a performance. The exhibition ties together what’s left behind: our most disgusting, private thoughts that we tried to hide and all moments of bursting out in laughter. It is an almost ridiculous attempt to make sense of power and losing power and losing our minds in the process. The brain is a muscle, it can be trained. The hand and the eye move with muscle and exercise power. The brain makes the decision to act or not to act. The makes tbrainhe decision to act ornot decaiion ot to act. Hold Is the strongest power who holde s the power wwha a I c an t I c an t afraid i have lost everythgin what we talked about power we lost ive lost aeveruthing n i dont want to what ive lostjn ewr I’ve lost everything.
The exhibition starts with a chaotic yet soothing 12-part celebration of performance that we wish you’ll all come to see!!!<3<3 It will be ridiculous, sentimental, awkward, emotional, or nothing? What remains of the performance will be shown as a part of the exhibition along with a video work and some sculptures.
Everything might change, or not.
With LOVE,
US

Miradonna Sirkka and Sofi Häkkinen are from Helsinki Finland and have been working together for 10 years now. Miradonna is a contemporary circus, performance and multimedia artist and Sofi is a visual artist specialized in sculpture and performance art. They have worked in the art field both in Finland and abroad, and have founded and are leading a multi art company called Recover Laboratory since 2015.
In their joint artistic practice they focus on social and gender norms, sculpture on stage, honesty, queer thinking, audience-performer relationship, changing the way bodies are viewed on stage, and thinking about life through a lens of trashy kitschy humour and sentimentality. Their works combine performance art with sculpture, video and music.
Miradonna Sirkka is a multimedia artist, contemporary circus artist, performance artist, director and performer. In her practice she focuses on the human connection, daily-life awkwardness and especially in the feeling of being seen and heard. The artworks are multidisciplinary mashups; performances, installations, videos, sounds and media artworks. Inspiration arises from pleasure, joy, emotions that are too big to handle, disgusting and top secret thoughts, human contact and everyday awkwardness. Every detail is thought through too many times and then dipped into a sugar bowl and dug out gruesomely realistic. She holds a BA in circus arts (Turku Arts Academy) and MA in Arts of Visual Culture and Curating Contemporary art (Aalto University). She also studied media art at Tama Art University in Tokyo. Currently she is working with a 3-year artistic grant from the Arts Promotion Centre Finland. Her works have been seen in the Helsinki Festival, New Performance Turku Biennale, Bergen Kunsthalle and Circusnext.

Sofi Häkkinen is a visual artist born in Oulu, Finland, and living in Helsinki. Häkkinen is a master of Fine Arts to be, from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts (2025) and a master of arts from Aalto University (2018). They work with sculpture and performance. Häkkinen works with a multidisciplinary approach both in the visual arts (sculpture, performance, video) and in the performing arts (immersive performances, direction, artistic design in Recover Laboratory collective). Themes in their art include pop, horror, humor, death, sentimentality and kitsch. Häkkinen uses mediums such as wood, metal casting, found materials, and ready-made. They are interested in how time around an artwork feels through different materials, and that’s one reason why they work simultaneously in performance, video and sculpture. Important things embedded in their artistic work are a queer way of thinking and doing, and honesty about motives and materials. They will be working with a SKR working grant in 2025 and 2026. Häkkinen’s work has been shown most recently in Tallinn at EKA Vent Space, Hämeenlinna Art Museum, New Performance Turku Biennale, Bergen Kunsthalle in Norway and the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts.
