That these events changed the lives of millions of people, many of whom today live and work in Swedish communities, makes it important for an institution like Moderna Museet Malmö to explore and present how artists in different ways worked with this, still ongoing, chapter in history.
With this exhibition and an in-depth program, the museum wants to offer a platform where existential experiences can be shared through art. A platform that uses the space of art to take us beyond history and knowledge. Where what may be too complicated or difficult to express in words can instead be embodied with color, movement and shape.
