For me, the landscapes are a memory diary of places I’ve traveled through or past.
It is also about philosophy and mysticism.
I am inspired by the thoughts of the French philosopher Gaston Bachelard. In his dense and rich books on the four elements, a strong sense of nature is present in his studies of the poetics of matter. His esoteric theories include unexpected connections between nature and man, science, poetry and the importance of dreaming.
This has resulted, among other things, in works with elements such as wood, stone, wind, moon and other natural phenomena. The elements are shaped with shape and color that may reflect different meanings around the concepts, but are also projected with emotions and poetry.
Another title is borrowed from the poem collection “for the tree’s sake” by Karin Boye; ” You are the seed and I am your chaff”. Here, the element soil may be more diverse and fertile.
Other works I work with are prints of found objects and reflections. By collecting things, sounds, sensations or memories, I explore places and try to find an identity or essence.
The method I most often use is graphic techniques. It is central to the creation of the works and gets its unique expression only through the technology used to create it. For me, the method must have a function and not be a copy of itself. The methods of graphics, the technique and inertia of the materials and the unique expression, correspond to what I want to convey and the processes become part of my rhythm of thought.
To work with graphics is to work with processes that involve contrasts, resolution and union, high pressure and chemical processes. I let this influence and be meaningful in the way I think about my work. My images and installations often reflect the materials I work with; metal, paper, acid and light.
