Objects, traces, cues, organized by Eero Karjalainen and Leevi Toija, gathers works from eight artists from Finland and abroad. The exhibition picks up cues and prompts from previous collaborative and individual projects of Karjalainen and Toija, thus constructing a situation-specific and durational way of work.

At the core of the exhibition is a question regarding public space: how are everyday situations, settings, and practices governed, dictated, and/or improvised through (artifacts of) what we call a “public space”? Through representation of objects, traces, and cues the exhibition comes to impersonate a mock-up of motifs from the public sphere.
In addition to presenting a selection of artists, objects, traces, cues is a scene of working: Karjalainen and Toija will keep the exhibition open, and be present each week by working together in the gallery, for a duration amounting to a non-standard work week.
