Thailand is a land of cultural diversity. Traveling from the north of the country to the south, it is possible to meet different cultures, different beliefs and unique identities. Thailand’s multicultural regions can be divided into northern, eastern, central and southern parts, each with its own culture and local lifestyle. But diversity does not differentiate, but creates a harmonious whole.
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand in Stockholm, together with the RIGA STOCK EXCHANGE of the Art Museum, has prepared an exhibition in which the exhibited works of art tell about the cultural differences of the four regions of Thailand and highlight the unifying.
The exhibition represents two types of art: Thai contemporary painting and textile art. The exhibition features works by four Thai contemporary artists , Angkrit Ajchariyasophon, Jehabdulloh Jehsorhoh , Tanupon En -on , and Jakkai Siributr . community lifestyle, nature, and expresses the views of the authors on what constitutes “Thainess”. The exhibition features textile art from different regions of Thailand: North, Northeast, South and Central, introducing visitors to silk weaving techniques, fabric dyeing techniques, ornamentation and variety of ornaments.
