Eva Hild's organic sculptures balance between strength and fragility, presence and absence, openness and closure. Her work has the ability to touch and amaze the viewer. Eva describes her sculptures as abstract self-portraits – bodies with thin walls where outer and inner worlds meet. The thin shell functions as a membrane between the world and the self – a physical expression of how external pressure can shape our inner experience and how our inner self can also create outward movements.
Eva Hild (b.1966 in Lidköping) lives and works in Sparsör outside Borås. She is educated at the University of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg. After graduating in ceramic art in 1998, she has participated in a large number of exhibitions and created public works all over the world.
In the summer of 2025, the work HOLD will be inaugurated on the beach promenade in Lidköping. In the exhibition Hold on we will have the opportunity to follow the process from sketch assignment to finished artwork and gain insight into Eva’s work with public art. The exhibition provides a unique opportunity to delve into Eva’s artistry and take part in material that has not previously been shown.
