The exhibition presents 36 young visual artists of the next generation, who are united by age: all of them are under 35 years old. They represent a wide range of visual art techniques, from sculpture to meme and spoken word art.
In the works of the selected artists, questions about identity and the position of the individual as a part of the community and wider society are highlighted. Recurring themes are relationships, love, family, sex, sensitivity, the transience of matter and rebirth.
The Society of Finnish Artists together with its project partners is responsible for organizing the exhibition. As part of the exhibition, Suomen Taiteilijaseura is piloting a new model of the work of an employed visual artist with the support of the Finnish Cultural Foundation. The goal is to improve the employment opportunities of visual artists.
