Joakim Sandqvist (b. 1988) works in a wide range between abstraction and concreteness and with a wide selection of media, such as sculpture, video, photography, drawing and textiles. The choice of material comes from the ideas and contexts with which he works, and the history of the material itself is often central to the works.

At Färgfabriken, Sandqvist’s production is presented for the first time in an overall context where the works can interact with each other. Both previous and newly produced works will be shown.
About the artist
Joakim Sandqvist (b. 1988, in Huskvarna) lives and works in Malmö. He studied at the Malmö Academy of Fine Arts, the Slade School of Fine Arts and Maumau’s Independent Study Program. Sandqvist has been shown in solo exhibitions at Galleri Ping Pong in Malmö and at Obra in Lund. He has also participated in group exhibitions at Malmö Art Gallery and Malmö Art Museum.
