Maija Käyhkö (b. 1992) is a Finnish artist working with sculpture and installation. Her practice — which investigates materiality, functionality and traditions of making and exhibiting art — is translated into playful, often rearrangeable compositions that often withhold subtle references or potential to action, movement, or interaction with one’s body. The recurring modular structures in her works combine with the conventions of sculpture, balancing between change, stability, control and touch.
