Edvinas Batulevicius Noor kunstnik

Edvinas Batulevičius, born in Kaunas 1993. Graduated Masters of Fine Arts Painting in 2023, Vilnius Academy of Arts with Deans Award for Achievement. Thesis: “The Phenomenology of Vision: Spatial awareness in painting” Practice: “Luminary Split” During my studies, I have crafted a philosophical systemic approach in deconstructing compositional elements and creating effective works with a theoretical understanding of selected challenges in visual composition. During my time of study, I focused on understanding spatial properties in painting, how this visual element works in a psychological context, in other words, how spaciousness is communicated. Separating my practical works from the theoretical, I was able to focus more on painting genuine and deeply personal ideas and experiences while using new theoretical understanding as a new tool in my arsenal. The works were exhibited with sound installation as an extension to the atmospheric nature of works. During my studies, I have actively participated in EU culture capital 2023 event organizing, have attended Iceland University of Art as a guest student to conduct a 3 month art research internship, have been awarded residency at SIM as well as holding a show in Iceland visual artists association gallery, “IN TO”. Was invited to a group exhibition with the Lithuania artist union, “Young Painting of Kaunas/Jauna Kauno Tapyba”. Have been awarded a year’s scholarship from the Baltic-American Freedom Foundation to conduct artistic practice in the US. I mostly consider myself as an Artist-Researcher, but i delve in to various art forms, especially writing and music. ,
