Water, fountains and witches, 2025

100 x 100 cm

Video shot with 360° GoPro

This work invites you into a world where history seeps into myth, and memory blurs with ritual and belief. Rooted in the haunted landscapes of rural Fribourg, where whispers of cursed water, flooded drawers, and unseen forces echoed through childhood stories, this work delves into the shadows of forgotten witch-hunts and the ritual power of water—a source of life, and a tool of punishment. Shaped by field research in Switzerland and Estonia, the project navigates places where natural energy and historical trauma converge. Through immersive video and installation, ancient lore collides with modern technology, unfolding in fragments—like memory itself. Guided by the dark pages of the Malleus Maleficarum, folkloric tales, and archival witch trial records, the work weaves together ritual, fear, persecution, and survival. It is both a process of personal catharsis and cultural reclamation—an invitation to listen closely to what still murmurs beneath the surface.
