Found photograph mounted on folded and creased paper in a found frame & a cutout from a history book, folded by hand
Through this arrangement of found objects (altered and reconfigured by hand), I continue my engagement with themes of distance, contiguity, and placement/ displacement. A found photograph of a mountain trail full of bends is juxtaposed with a cutout of an aerial view of the earth (folded by hand in a repetition of “mountain” and “valley” folds) to comment on how one can lose one’s place geographically (through migration and displacement), but also in a narratological sense, for example by getting lost in a trail of thought, a mental thread, or in someone else’s point-of-view.
