Like in the painting Summer I see powerful queer female bodies in front of me with a rub-it-in-your-face attitude. When I present scenes of lesbian and queer life in my paintings there is something liberating about that. I see queer joy and I love to draw attention to the world with painting. I love the free naked body with body parts like breasts pointing in all directions. As queer, I live in a heteronormative society and automatically approach everything from the perspective of being queer. I want to tell you about that, show you how fun it is to be queer. And take the viewer into that world because it’s fun and exciting and difficult. And genuine and loving.
