Snow, handmade paper
This book is an attempt to stop time and reflect on the role of snow on both a local and global scale. It contains 98 days – the exact duration of Lithuania’s record-breaking winter, which began on December 27, 2025, and ended on April 3, 2026, when the last patch of snow melted before my eyes. The pages of the book are made from handmade snow paper containing moss, pine needles, sand, twigs, and unavoidable traces of environmental pollution. Within the book, snow is revealed not only as an aesthetic phenomenon, but also as a sensitive witness to the environment. By layering these fragile sheets of snow paper, I shape the book as a sculptural object – a monument to winter. This artwork was showcased in group exhibition “Memorika” in 2026.
