PVC pipes, styrofoam, sand, clay, pigment, glue, acrystal.

Black and vertical lines, like the branches of a silver birch. The hair, long and tangled. The oldest cleaned the hairbrushes and threw the tufts out for the birds. They made homes of hair and branches. Glaring towards the sky. Standing side by side but avoiding eye contact. Their fear is the same. Their thumbs. Their five steps towards the fire are just as long.
